In Case of Jaws...
At the Military Museum, there were exhibits of various artifacts, from old wooden rifles, a copy of Mao's writings, to a tree trunk that was in a picture during the Japanese invasion in northern China in the 1930s.
There was also a glass case showing the survival gear given to soldiers if they parachuted into the water. Among the items was a life jacket, a flare, food, and this "Drive Off Shark Agent".
I don't know exactly what it is... but the red colour would probably attract the sharks to come over so you'd have to use it anyway...

i just watched a tv program on discovery channel on sharks. they dont have very good eyesights. so the red box probably would not do much harm. they attack their prey by smell and by sonar. a group of researchers created a shark sonar generating sound waves. they found out a certain sound frequency attracted the sharks. sharks also have srong sense of smell even tiny quantity of blood in the water can attract them too.
This is interesting. Funny, but probably not needed. In the U.S., there were under 20 shark attack related deaths last year, compared to hundreds due to drowning and tens of thousands due to motor vehicles.
