Clearing Snow Beijing Style
This morning we got more white flakes.
And I didn't know how they cleared the snow until now.
There aren't any shovels. It's even less hi-tech than that.
Workers use twigs tied together made into coarse brooms to sweep the snow away to clear a path.
Not only do these natural brooms keep municipal cleaning costs down, but probably work just as well as a store-bought ones.

the chinese are very ingenious in utilizing natural products. this type of sweep has been in use for thousands of years. they are practically at no cost. it does not need any fuel. it provides good exercise in the upper extremities and the body muscle mass while sweeping. but it has been sneered at as backward.
